What is sonic sound meditation?
Crystal bowl sound meditation is a form of meditation that involves using singing crystal bowls to create vibrations and sound waves that can help balance the body's energy and promote healing. The bowls, which are made from quartz crystal, are struck or played with a mallet to produce a soothing, resonant sound. This sonic sound aids you in falling into a profound meditative state.
It is believed that the vibrations from the crystal bowls can help to release tension and stress in the body, as well as balance the body's energy centers (also known as chakras). Some people also believe that crystal bowl sound vibration can help to improve sleep, reduce pain, and boost the immune system.
I use 432hz crystal sound bowls in my practice.
When attending class, make sure to wear something comfortable. I suggest loose clothing, or athletic wear, something that allows for easy movement and relaxation. Avoid wearing tight or restrictive clothing that might make you feel uncomfortable. I provide only a limited amount of pillows for seating. However, you can bring a yoga mat or blanket to attend the class in a more comfortable position.
It is important to note that crystal bowls are considered to be an alternative therapy and there is currently a lack of scientific evidence to support its effectiveness. It is always best to consult with a doctor or healthcare provider before trying any new form of therapy.
My wife and I offer in-person sound bath sessions on a sliding scale donation basis. We host our sessions in the Western North Carolina area (Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Sylva, Canton, Clyde, or Asheville.)
Instagram will have the most up-to-date information on individual classes, times, and locations.
